My son and I were fortunate to have Pam Harders as our literacy tutor. Pam not only taught my son to read but she also taught me how to help him with his reading. She opened my eyes to the difficulties that my son was experiencing with his literacy skills and gave me an understanding of the support that he required to learn to read.

My son began the 12 week program in Year 2, not able to read and not liking reading. He finished the sessions not only reading but loving it!! He enjoyed books so much he wrote a letter to Paul Jennings telling him how much he loved his stories. That was 11 years ago, and to this day we are still so grateful to Pam: I truly believe if it wasn’t for her, my son would still not be reading!

I sought help and found all the support our family needed through Pam Harders and the Scaffolding Literacy program. After working through the program my son was able to once again enjoy learning in a positive and supportive environment.
